I pull the trans and was at their shop while they pulled it apart. Anyway, after a week of driving the truck with the shift kit and the new issues, It looses overdrive and something else that I can't recall.
#4l60e shift kit plate install
After a day of or two of this I decide that the longer bolt might not be tight enough so I pull it apart to heli-coil the bad thread, put in the correct bolt, and install new separator plate gaskets. A few times I've lost my temper and goosed it during this delay and it dogs the engine before going into reverse. Secondly, it takes way too long to go from drive to reverse. Kind of like it doesn't have enough pressure and then all of the sudden locks a band or a clutch pack when it does have enough pressure. When accelerating from a standstill there is always a funny sounding delay until I get the rpm a little over idle, then when it starts to move it stops making the noise and it hits pretty hard. Here are the symptoms that persist to this day, some 20k later. The trans was never right after the install of the trans-go kit. One of the valve body bolts got stripped, so they stuck a slightly longer bolt in and called it good. They are good people and good friends of mine, so they insist on helping install it after hours on a friday. He suggested trying the trans-go reprogramming kit that they install in every 4l60e that goes out their door. I thought this was weird, so I talked to my buddy who owns a small but very well know local tranny shop. You could hear that the engine was being loaded a little more at that rpm. My main concern was at interstate speed I would put the hammer down in third gear and the tach would climb steadily until around 3200 rpm where it would pull back about a hundred rpm while still increasing in speed. The truck originally started to do a couple odd things around 130k(I've owned it since 70k). I have a 97 Chevy half ton 4x with a 350 and a 4l60e. Hey guys, I will try to make a long story short here.
